Are you looking for something fun and different in the Valley? Have you ever seen someone painting en plein air in our beautiful valley? Have you wondered how they do it? You now have a chance to find out.
Eden 1900 Art Gallery is presenting a live, outdoor, oil painting demonstration and artist meet and greet event on Friday evening July 17 from 6:30 until 8:00 PM. Artist and art instructor Stephen Henry will create an oil painting before your very eyes. You will see him choose and mix colors, smell the fresh oil paint, and listen as he explains the outdoor oil painting process.
This will be an outdoor event held on the back patio at 6355 E 1900 N, Eden. Prospective attendees are asked to text the gallery by July 16th on 801-745-2839 to reserve a space in the shade and bring their own lawn chairs. There will be cold bottled water available. While at the event, mask wearing and 6′ social distancing are encouraged for the health of all.
Eden 1900 Art Gallery re-opened on July 10 after being closed since winter. Our goals are to maintain an art presence in Eden, bring an experience of fine art to the public, and provide a forum for artists to share their works with the public.
There will be an opportunity during this event to see the works currently available inside the gallery. We have a limit of four guests inside the gallery at one time. All customers and visitors to wear a mask while inside the gallery. Anyone not wishing to wear a mask or having underlying health issues has the option to view and purchase the available artwork online from Eden1900.com and pick up during business hours. We love our customers and want you all to be safe and healthy.
Artists whose works are currently being featured inside the gallery include Ogden Valley Artists Pam Brown, Jan Carlsen, and Sam Crump, and Ogden Artist and Art Instructor Stephen Henry.
Pam Brown creates using pan pastels, Jan Carlsen works in watercolor or oil paint, Sam Crump captures photographic images, and Stephen Henry’s works come in a variety of mediums including marker sketches, and watercolor or oil paintings.
The gallery’s regular business hours are 11 AM to 5 PM Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Please come see the works of art that these artists have created especially for you.
Coming this September Eden 1900 Art Gallery will sponsor its fourth annual “Fall in Love with Ogden Valley Plein Air Painting Contest.” All contest entry Plein Air paintings will be of outdoor scenes in the Ogden Valley from the mountain tops to the lake shore and anywhere in between.
