The Eden 1900 Art Gallery located at 6355 E 1900 North in Eden is excited to be hosting its fifth annual Fall in Love with Ogden Valley Plein Air Painting Contest. The contest runs from August 27th until September 18th.

To generate activity and excitement for the Plein Air contest, Eden 1900 LLC will kick off the activities in Ogden Valley with a Paint-Out and Photography Day on August 28. Sign up opens August 27th.
Prizes for the 5th annual Fall in Love with Ogden Valley Plein Air Painting Contest are as follows: first place $300, second place $150, third place $75. Contest rules and information are available from Eden1900.com/PleinAir. Paintings from this year’s contest will be on display at the Eden 1900 Art Gallery from the time they are turned in through December 4th, or until sold. An Artists’ Reception and Awards Ceremony will be held November 4th for contest participants and Art Gallery supporters.

Paint-Out Artists will participate on site from 7 AM to 7 PM, and may paint or draw any view that they can see from the art gallery. Prizes for Paint-Out and Photography Day will be based on participation. Paint-Out Artists may bring their own props for a still life, or their own models or subjects to be painted. Paint-Out and Photography Day is open to the public from 10 AM until 5 PM. The public is invited to watch the artists in action and purchase directly from the artists.

Photography Day provides photographers with one entire 24-hour period from 4 PM on August 27 until the same time on August 28 to take their best shots within the Ogden Valley. Digital photographic images to be submitted by 7 PM August 28th for consideration in the contest. Photographs must be taken within the Ogden Valley and may include almost any subject such as people, landscapes, buildings, reflections, and all variety of flora and fauna. Eden 1900 Art Gallery is currently displaying a terrific selection of original pen and ink drawings, oil paintings, and watercolor paintings, and fine art prints, cards, and photographic works on display from local area and Ogden Valley artists including C.A. Allen (Eden), Pam Brown (Liberty), Jan Carlsen (Huntsville), Deborah Hegg (Eden), David W. Jackson (Mtn Green), Jeanie Montgomery (Huntsville), and Natalie Shupe (Liberty).
