About the Artist

PamBrownPhoto - Free Pan Pastel Painting with Creative Artist, Pam Brown

Pam Brown is also known as the Relaxed Artist. She was born and raised in Southern California. A dozen years ago, she moved to Liberty where she lives with her husband. Her two children, son-in-law, daughter-in-law and five grandchildren are all close by.

She is the third of four children – two older brothers and one younger sister. Her parents always encouraged them to be involved in a variety of activities. They were always busy and learning new things. One of her favorite activities was drawing and painting. She was always fascinated by fashion. She would draw various gowns that might be worn to a prom or a fancy occasion. Her father thought that she would end up going into fashion design. She thought about it but decided that wasn’t for her.

Pam earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in “Interior Environment” which was basically an interior design program. She worked for various designers for a while, but later went back to school to get her teaching credential. Pam has taught elementary education for over 25 years. Mrs. Brown has really enjoys working art into so many of her lessons. Art is a wonderful communication tool.

Learn Valuable Pan Pastel Painting Skills. This is an Exciting Medium!

Pam has continued her love of drawing and watercolor painting. A few years ago, she and her grandson Joseph were playing with his sidewalk chalk on his driveway. She had never really gotten into using chalks in her art because she thought they would be too messy. She got so into her sidewalk art even though Joseph quickly lost interest – he was only 2 at the time. She loved being able to blend the colors with her fingers just the way that she wanted them. Now Pam has spent the last several years mastering different pastel techniques using Pan Pastels, pastel pencils, and traditional soft pastels.

Pam Brown’s vision and mission as an artist is to bring a sense of peace through her personal art, and to share creative ideas and techniques that will inspire relaxation and serenity. She has found so much enjoyment in the hours spent working in this medium and looks forward to using her teaching experience to share what she has learned with others.

During the demonstration you will learn how she creates the various visual effects and the tools she uses.
