Plein Air Painting Contest
Do you love the Ogden Valley? This fall Eden 1900 LLC’s Art Gallery invites artists to celebrate our valley by being part of the Fourth Annual Fall in Love with Ogden Valley Plein Air Painting Contest.
A local judge will rate all entered paintings on established criteria and select the top three. First prize is $200. Additional prizes will be determined based on entry fees collected.
Plein air paintings must be created by working outdoors on location in the Ogden Valley with acrylic, oil or watercolor paint, pastels, charcoal, or other non-digital media.
Size and Location
Paintings are to be no larger than 24” by 36” and no smaller than 8″ by 10″. Painting/art creation must occur within the Ogden Valley from Pineview Reservoir up to and including the surrounding mountain tops and our three local ski resorts.
Stamp In Dates and Times
Canvas/paper/boards must be stamped before painting. Minimum of one entry fee required per artist before stamping. Stamp as many canvas as desired for initial $20 entry fee. Fees for entering more than one are $15 second entry and $10 each for third and subsequent entries.
Stamping will occur at Eden 1900 Art Gallery during the following dates and times:
Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, beginning September 17 through October 3, 2020.
Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays: 11:00 to 5:00 pm; (Note – hours may change for fall)
Other times may be available by appointment and for special events.
6355 E 1900 North, Eden, Utah. Please note art gallery is only open three days per week and hours are limited.
Completed paintings should be turned in to the gallery no later than Saturday, October 3, during regular hours.
Display and Sales Period
Space permitting, entered works will remain on display in the Eden 1900 Art Gallery until December 19, 2020, or until sold. Top three paintings to be announced and an Artists Reception and Awards Ceremony will be held on Thursday, November 5 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Artists may set minimum prices for their works. The Eden 1900 Art Gallery will earn its standard 30 percent consignment fee for entered paintings.

Competing artists and their guests as well as gallery supporters are invited to attend a Reception and Awards Ceremony at the Eden 1900 Art Gallery on Thursday evening, November 5, 2020, from 5 to 7 p.m. Details with respect to maximum attendance due to social distancing will be announced in October.
